GBN-Geschäftsstelle

Vom Finanzmanagement bis zur Geschäftsführung - die GBN-Geschäftsstelle mit Sitz in Berlin stellt sicher, dass alle Projekte reibungslos ablaufen.


Die GBN-Geschäftsstelle mit Sitz an der Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin steuert die operativen Geschäfte des Biobankenverbundes. Neben dem Finanzmanagement, der Geschäftsführung und der Öffentlichkeitsarbeit ist sie für das übergreifende Projektmanagement zuständig. Außerdem vertritt sie die Interessen der deutschen Biobanken-Community innerhalb der europäischen Infrastruktur BBMRI-ERIC.

Is storage on a dry matrix a viable option in clinical research and an alternative to discarding sample collections?

A conventional ultra-low temperature freezer uses approximately 20 kWh of energy per day, as much as an average small household. Could sample storage on filter paper, a compact, low-cost alternative, provide more sustainable biobanking? What kind of analyses are possible with filter paper samples, and what kind of analyses are not? Is filter paper an alternative when sample collections otherwise need to be discarded?

Ulf Gyllensten has assessed the performance of different filter papers for storage of for example plasma. In this webinar, Ulf will give an overview of his own experiences followed by an open discussion and Q&A among webinar participants.
