-80°C-ULT are power hungry. The German Biobank Node (GBN) and the German Biobank Alliance (GBA) have compiled a list of potential savings.

Approximately 300 participants exchanged views on the latest developments in biobanking at the 10th National Biobank Symposium in Berlin.

In May 2017, the GBA was launched initially comprising eleven biobank sites and two IT centres to serve "next-generation biobanking".

Registrations for the GBN workshop "Biobanking in Microbiome Research" on 15 September 2022 in Hanover are now open.
