Since September 2019, the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) has been accepting applications for accreditations according to ISO 20387 "Biotechnology – Biobanking – General requirements for biobanking". As the standard has now been published as a harmonised version in the Official Journal of the European Union, the DAkkS can now start processing the applications received. The DAkkS is thus the first national accreditation body within the EU to offer accreditations of biobanks according to DIN EN ISO 20387.
If the pandemic situation permits, the DAkkS will carry out first on-site assessments in the first half of 2022. The DAkkS will conduct an online information event on 6 April 2022. The registration fee is 130.00 euros (154.70 euros incl. VAT). Registration is possible until 20 March.
