Training and Education

The quality of biobanks depends significantly on the work of the technical employees, who are responsible for the reception, processing and storage of biosamples. Amongst other things, the technical employees guarantee a consistent sample quality through proper implementation of guidelines and procedural specifications. Further training measures provide an essential basis for the establishment of standardised processes for sample handling. However, no harmonised training opportunities for technical staff are currently available on a national level. Therefore, GBN is developing a national training platform for technical personnel, thus contributing to the standardisation of sample quality.
