BBMRI-ERIC: ELSI Research Officer

Key Responsibilities
We seek a Research Officer via secondment to complement our ELSI team in order to improve our services for the biobanking community. The expert will dedicate most of his/her time to the ELSI Services, especially the ELSI Helpdesk and  nowledge Base. He/she will be the proxy to the ELSI Services Officer. He/she will contribute to working groups and/or task forces to develop practical services and tools or guidance to biobankers and occasionally to the BMS RIs. Moreover, he/she will contribute to activities and tasks that may be both part of BBMRI-ERIC’s core services as well as selected EU funded projects (e.g. CY-Biobank).

Requirements
The Research Officer is expected to have a background in ethical, legal and societal aspects in the context of biomedical research, especially biobanks. Previous experience in collaborative, international research projects, private and/or public research organizations is an advantage. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with colleagues and stakeholders in an international environment as well as to work in a team are essential. As English is the working language of BBMRI-ERIC, applicants must be fluent in English. The jobholder will be asked from time to time to work outside normal working hours and occasionally to undertake national and/or international travel. We are looking for highly motivated people with at least a Masters or higher, in law, social sciences or bioethics.

BBMRI-ERIC: QM-expert in biobanking

Project: H2020 GA 857182, title: Biobanking and the Cyprus Human Genome Project

Candidates should have a master’s in science or a degree of a related discipline and possess a strong interest in quality assurance and quality control aspects of biomedical research and biobanking
procedures. The candidate will be responsible for fulfiling the tasks of the project CY Biobank.
Together with BBMRI-ERIC QM team, the candidate will support the development of an adequate QMS at Cyprus Biobank as outlined in the project. Additionally the candidate will be responsible to
support the CY Biobank project and the BBMRI-ERIC QM team with scientific knowledge of biomedical research.

The candidate responsible for the following tasks:

  • Support of the development of an adequate QM System at CY Biobank
  • Development and maintenance of management documentation in compliance with the requirements of European and international standards (http://www.bbmrieric.eu/services/standardisation/)
  • Improvement of quality methods and procedures
  • Review and improve QM systems according to the BBMRI-ERIC quality policy
  • Representation of the management in quality matters, meetings, workshops, webinars, conferences, trainings…
  • The Join BBMRI.QM team and give scientific support

Candidate’s experience shall include:

  • A degree in science (Medical sciences, biology, genetics, microbiology, chemistry or equivalent)
  • Training for Quality Management Representative / Quality Systems Manager or equivalent (additional QM training is offered by BBMRI-ERIC)
  • Experience within Quality Management System’s administration (http://www.bbmrieric.eu/services/standardisation/)
  • High accuracy and reliability
  • Advanced Project Management skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent English skills, advanced German skills

Additional skills

  • Experience with Integrated Management Systems in organizations preferably in science/healthcare/biomedical research
  • Experience with implementing and certifying QMS in organizations preferably in science/healthcare/biomedical research
  • Readiness to travel

Payment
In exchange for the services of the Secondee and based on the budget of the action, as detailed in Annex II of the Grant Agreement, BBMRI-ERIC will pay a total of € 170,000 for a period of 3 years, planned from the 1st of October 2019 to th 30th of September 2022.

IT-Projektmitarbeiter / Softwareentwickler (m/w/d)

Im Institut für Pathologie - RWTH cBMB - RWTH centralized Biomaterial Bank ist zum frühestmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine Stelle als IT-Projektmitarbeiter / Softwareentwickler (m/w/d) mit der vollen tariflich vereinbarten Arbeitszeit (zzt. 38,5 Std./W.) zu besetzen. Die Stelle ist projektbezogen befristet bis zum 30.04.2020.

Ihre Aufgaben 

Konzeption, Weiterentwicklung und Vernetzung lokaler Softwarelösungen mit anderen nationalen Biobank-Standorten. Die Aufgaben sind im Einzelnen:

  • Architektur und Weiterentwicklung verschiedener Software-Lösungen
  • Anforderungsanalyse, Modellierung und Integration von Schnittstellen zum Datenaustausch
  • Implementierung einer Software zur Anfrage von Biomaterialproben und assoziierten Daten
  • Austausch innerhalb der nationalen und internationalen Biobanken-Community

IT-Projektmanager/-in / Informatiker/-in (m/w/d)

Im Institut für Pathologie - zentralisierte Biomaterialbank der RWTH Aachen (RWTH cBMB) ist zum frühestmöglichen Zeitpunkt eine Stelle als IT-Projektmanager/-in / Informatiker/-in (m/w/d) mit der vollen tariflich vereinbarten Arbeitszeit (zzt. 38,50 Std./Woche) zu besetzen. Die Stelle ist projektbezogen zunächst befristet bis zum 31.12.2023, mit der Option einer Verlängerung.

Ihre Aufgaben

Ihre zukünftige Aufgabe wird die Leitung, Konzeption, Pflege und Weiterentwicklung der IT der RWTH cBMB Biobank sein. Diese beinhaltet folgende Tätigkeiten:

  • Entwicklungsleitung, Konzeption und Architektur verschiedener Software-Lösungen und innovativer IT-Projekte im Gesundheitsumfeld (Machine Learning, AI/KI, Microservices)
  • Datenbankentwicklung und Datenmigration zur Weiterentwicklung des Data Warehouse
  • Anforderungsanalyse in direkter Kommunikation mit beteiligten Fachbereichen, Forschern und Klinikern
  • Austausch innerhalb der nationalen und internationalen Biobanken-Community
