The implementation guide ISO/TR 22758:2020-05 “Biotechnology – Biobanking – Implementation guide for ISO 20387” has been published in English recently. Members of the QM Core Team of the German Biobank Node (GBN) were involved in the development.
The implementation guide supplements the ISO 20387 biobank standard with examples and detailed explanations. It offers support in implementing the requirements of the standard. The document is relevant for both newly established biobanks and those that have been in existence for some time.
Since September 2019, the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) accepts applications for accreditations according to ISO 20387 “Biotechnology – Biobanking – General requirements for biobanking”. The standard was published in 2018.
